• Checking for missing or incorrect audio tags and chapter breaks

• Providing detailed feedback in marked-up PDFs and spreadsheets

It ensures that all important information is clearly presented, characters are easily distinguishable, and the flow of the text is smooth. The purpose of prep is to reduce confusion and allow the narrator to focus on delivering an engaging performance. Well-prepped material saves time, enhances the quality of the final recording, and helps narrators deliver the best possible performance.

Full Prep Criteria:

• Character list: Identifies characters, their traits, and voice descriptions.

• Chapter summaries: Brief overviews of each chapter’s key events.

• Dialogue highlighting: Differentiates each character's dialogue with distinct colors.

• Word list with pronunciations: Includes unusual words, names, and places.

• Dialogue tags: Highlights how dialogue is delivered (e.g., whispered, shouted).

Extras that can be added on:

• Additional notes like chapter mood keywords, setting descriptions, or story arcs.

• Timelines, character connections, and other visual summaries.
